Yep! I have no problem with that! That way they can interact with people's existing OCs!

Yep! I hope to get some more peeps to do the magic quest first though! I think I'll have to come up with incentives for participating!
Maybe currency that Burroots use that will help with getting accessories, more missions etc? Lots of groups do it and I find it to be a pretty good idea. Unless you would rather figure something out yourself that's more original, your choice.
